-MAISIE IS LOOKING FOR A HOME WITH NO OTHER CATS- Maisie was taken into a local vets towards the end of May, she had been involved in a suspected road traffic accident. The vets treated her for shock and she was placed on fluids for dehydration; within 24hours Maisie had made a full recover and thankfully was not injured. Since Maisies arrival at Newbury Cats Protection; she has been in our isolation unit. She is a suspected Feline Herpes virus (FHV) carrier and therefore Maisie is looking for her forever home to have no other felines in the house. • FHV is a very common virus. • Once a cat has been infected with FHV, the virus stays within the cat and the virus can shed at times of stress. Although Maisies health is now well, being in a cattery enviroment is stressful for some cats so during Masies stay, we are almost certainly going to continue seeing her shed the Herpes virus. When shedding the virus, Maisies eyes will be weepy. After a long course of antibiotics, our vet has said that Maisie is now ready to find a new home. Maisie is a beautiful little lady who has been aged at 18 months old and she is now starting to earn our trust. Maisie is looking for an understanding owner who lives in a quiet home. She is looking for somebody who will allow Maisie to go to them in her own time and she is looking for an owner who will look forward to the day, that Maisie comes to sit next to them. If you would like to learn more about Maisie or meet her; please contact the centre on 01635 200111 or email: [email protected]
