Posted Position Title: Resident Engineer (Technical Support Engineer 6) Career Level: Experienced Function: Services Function Segment: Field Services Location: Algeria U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: City: Algiers Postal Code: Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: The Resident Engineer will be the main point of contact for all technical problem resolutions for customer’s GE Energy equipment. He/She will assist the CPM to manage the CS site to GE and customer satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities: Provide counsel and advice on the GE supplied equipment operations in accordance with guidelines and specifications, operating symptoms and history. - Coordinate the technical communications between customer engineering staff and GE Engineering and assist expediting engineering supports. - Assist the customer in the proper use of GE technical documentations provided with the equipment. - Assist in development of specific data log sheets and preventive maintenance check lists for the customer site’s operating and maintenance personnel to record unit data. - Provide counsel and advice on troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance procedures to maintain equipment as required and consistent with manufacturers recommendations. - Provide counsel and advice regarding the establishment of an adequate inventory of materials, equipment and spare parts for maintaining optimum operation of the GE supplied units. - Provide advice and counsel regarding changes, modifications, and upgrades for maintaining optimum operation of the GE supplied equipment. - Provide advice for scheduling routine maintenance, advise the sequence of scheduled and additional inspection activities. - Be on site during emergency situations requiring the Gas Turbine Resident Engineer. - Respond to forced outages for quick response time and necessary resources to restore the site unit to operating conditions in a timely manner. - Assistant CPM for the profitability and customer satisfaction of assigned contract - Support in data collections & analysis of unit operations, generating unit operations report, communications with GE M&D center etc. - Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives; Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or control Engineering - In-depth technical knowledge of combined cycle power plant operations and maintenances in particular 9FA and 9FB machines - Applicable leadership skills required for working in a dynamic, energetic and complex environment. - Familiarity with e-tools and service applications - Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with colleagues and customers - Strong ownership and customer service focus with the ability to empathize as well as prioritize customer needs. - Ability to work efficiently with less direct supervision. - Willingness to work continuously at site and travel in the country or sometime to oversea Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Desired Characteristics: - Team leader in a dynamic, energetic, and proactive environment - Six Sigma training - Field Engineering Program Graduate (GE employees only) - Desire background in Power Generation equipment or with 5+ year working experience in combined cycle power plant - Project Management experienceTAWZIF
