The Sea Turtle Preservation Society Presents Turtle Talk When: Sat, May 31, 2014, 2:00pm –3:30pm Where: Eau Gallie Public Library, 1521 Pineapple Ave, Melbourne , FL 32935 Register online at: seaturtlespacecoast.org/get-involved/turtletalk/ or register as a walk-in from 1:30pm to 2:00pm. The presentation will begin promptly at 2:00pm. Description of Presentation: Turtle Talk presentations are free and open to the public. The slide presentation is an introduction to sea turtles and includes a basic overview of the sea turtle species with concentration on species that commonly nest on the Brevard County beaches. The presentation also examines the causes of sea turtle population declines and the ongoing laws in effect to protect and prevent them from becoming extinct. Free information brochures will be available for attendees before and after the slide presentation, as well as some sea turtle props on display for viewing. Completion of the Turtle Talk presentation is a basic requirement for volunteers who are interested in participating in the STPS programs and is a prerequisite for any volunteer activity involving hands on work with turtles. For attendees who have not registered online, registration will be during the 1st half hour with the class taking about an hour and a half. Please feel free to bring friends and family who are interested in sea turtles.
