01.17.15 DEAR BECKY & DAN: Ethel is sending letters now to the new Woodland address. I am also posting a few pictures that are referenced in her thank you. August 1st !!! Dear Becky, Dan & Emily, Monday morning. We sat on the swing so long yesterday, that when I came indoors – Tish and I were so busy, I never got around to writing letters until after she was in bed – then got sleepy before I got yours done. That patio seems to call people to come and visit. Debby came down, Becky Snyder was here a while, then Jim and Suzie came to sit. By that time Molly and Tish were home from swimming. So it was a full afternoon. Jim and Suzie are anxious to get moved in. He’s living out of his suitcase – staying with Sam until Fred and Janna get moved out. Molly and Ron went out for supper so Tish and I had the evening together. She put on a Hulu Hoop show for me – and Debby came down again – and a friend, Mary, came by. So it was a full day. Tish went to bed a bit earlier – because Bible School starts today. I just now took her out to the church. Sheri, Doug and Tom will all be there. Sheri is teaching the 5th & 6th graders. Doug is helping with games. I’m helping with Meals On Wheels this week. Tish will go to Jenni’s right after Bible School – to wait until I get done delivering Meals. She’ll love that. Jenni had an honor this week. Her group from the Y was asked to do their parade routine at the Rittman Sleep Walker Parade. They did it at our 4th of July Parade. And they got 1st prize at Rittman. Molly helped out, so did Sheri and even Tish was involved. She carried the sign. So they were all happy. I really appreciated your pictures and letter. I have the pictures ready to mail to Vicki. I told her to send them to your Mom. I marked a couple that I couldn’t resist. I am so pleased with all the good pictures we got. What wonderful memories!!!! I think you plan to get a swing is great. I know you’ll love it. It sounds as though you are getting settled. As far as Emily sleeping – I always said I never felt my girls really slept through the night until they were 2 years old. I remember one night when we got home from some party – Vicki was still on the bottle – she wanted her bottle and I wanted to go to bed – that was the last time she has a bottle at night! I guess I just quit giving it to her – I remember how disgusted I was. So – it will all work out. Tish was very restless when they first moved here – she’d wake up crying. It just took awhile for her to feel secure, I guess. Lots of interesting things happen when you have a baby!!! I had a fun day last week. Our Sunday School class went to the Amish country for lunch. I had three women with me in my car that love quilts, so we stopped at two different quilt shops. They loved it. I have Paula Reusser’s quilt almost done. Then I’ll have an embroidered one to work on. I’ve lobed quilting this summer. It’s been a very hot summer – and is cooler in the house – so I’ve done a lot of quilting. Doug is doing a lot of my lawn work – so that leaves me more time for quilting. Molly and Ron seem to be getting along fine. I’m spending more time with my Friends. Since Ron is around, I feel they need time along – with Tish and people their age – so I’ve been eating Sunday dinner with my friends. Last week Teddy and I went to Buehler’s Milltown to eat supper. They had a quilt on display that will be sold at the Kidron Relief sale this coming Saturday. I think Teddy will go there with me, too. She’s helping me with Meals on Wheels this week. I enjoy her company. So glad you are getting settled. I’m very happy for you. Best wishes to all 3 of you !!!! Love, Grandma
