03-08-2014 > Quote of the Evening! William Segraves 10:29pm February 23rd The other day, I meant to post something that I thought was unique. Although I am in agreement with the points made in this post, last Monday my son (13.5 years old) got a text from a kid a few years older trying to organize a group of 8 kids to get together and hit around for about 4 hours. This group consisted of the #1 boy in the South in the 14s and 16s. 4 of the 8 kids were Blue Chips. Anyway, we dropped our guy off and I picked him up towards the end and they had all worked out real hard with no coach around to supervise. I thought this was kind of rare these days. I think there are many issues contributing to the malaise of some US Juniors but it occurred to me that this group of ringers were doing something most of the big ATL academies would likely discourage, because it doesnt make them any money. Id look for big things from some of the kids in that group of 8; Id love to see more of it!
