If you throw your racket, scream, hit yourself with the racket, and/or blatantly hook, then you get one warning in a tourney from me. THE NEXT ONE YOU ARE DEFAULTED! In the last 8 years, I have defaulted three players in four tournaments. Three for obscenities and banging a racket, one for moon balling when I told her not to. All three players ended up in NCAA Division 1 programs: University of Penn, Tulane, Texas A&M ... one of which played for a national title. The 25 or so kids I have had over 8 years in probably 240 tournaments that I have seen, I have given 8 warnings and the 4 defaults. Every parent knows I have this policy. The one boy was up 4-1 in the third when I yanked him. He never did it again, his mom fought me to do it but I said if he doesnt, then he is gone. Discipline is easy if you are not afraid of losing money, telling a parent that these are my rules; if you do not like it, then go play somewhere else. The boy and girls who I defaulted once, later received sportsmanship awards at national tournaments.
