08/17/14 (0552) Bad Praying = Bad Living When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood. Isaiah 1:15 Bad living means bad praying and, in the end, no praying at all. The stream of prayer cannot rise higher than the fountain of living. We simply cannot talk strongly, intimately and confidently to God unless we are faithfully and truly living for Him. Our quiet time before God cannot become sanctified if our lives are not familiar with His laws and purposes. We must learn this lesson well. Righteous character and Christlike conduct give us a peculiar and favored standing in prayer before God. The Word places special emphasis on the part that our behavior plays on the value of our prayers. Father, I know that successful prayer goes hand in hand with a life that pleases You.
