Respect the flow. If i have one message for kenyan creatives its Respect the Flow. What i mean is that creatives around the world work with methods - processes - stages - to create good products. What i have seen too often here is skipping of the stages - jumping to the fun bit without working in a flow. For example: Song writers who go straight to recording after they have written some lyrics skipping the practise to hone both vocals and lyrics, skipping working out an arrangement, skipping the discussion about what to do with the song (is it a performance song is it a recording song) skipping the marketing plan etc. Filmakers who skip research, skip storyboarding, skip logging. Performers who skip practice, skip learning stage skills, or sound checks Web designers who skip proper consults with clients, who skip making a functional spec or similar, skip SEO No creative anywhere really enjoys doing these things but they do them because it works. The creatives in kenya who are successful have learned to respect the flow. Why reinvent the wheel when the flow works? #JudeClark OctopizzoTV youtube
