1 - The river flows down to the ocean - hence there is a slope - the surface of the river is inclined towards the ocean. Right? 2 - If we let an object - which is lighter than water - which does not dissolve in water and which does not stick to water (no cohesion) - float on the river say from a boat - that object would reach ocean faster that the mass of water on which it was floated - because the object would not only travel at the same speed as the riser water but slide along the slope. Right? Again I invite my friends, Arup Ratan G, Arindam Ghosh Hillol Nandi - Ramu Iyer - Arnab Lahiri - Siddhartha De - Paresh M Borkar - Achyut Dutt (hope he is a bit free now;) ) Chandrashekhar Shetye - to respond by saying where I went wrong in my argument
