1/16/2015 - Motor Vehicle Crash 267 Rescue and Engine-2 were dispatched for a one vehicle crash early in the morning this past Friday. The driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound on Noblestown Road (the same lane where our engine is parked in photos). The vehicle struck the hillside along the roadway. Police, after assessment of the scene, concluded the vehicle went airborne, cleared a gas meter and a picket fence, rotated and landed in an nearby driveway. There were no tire tracks along the hillside, so this is the only path police could come up with to account for where the vehicle came to rest. 267 personnel cribbed the vehicle to prevent movement, assessed the driver until Northwest EMS arrived, soaked up leaking oil, performed traffic control, assisted the tow, and assessed a nearby gas meter. Incident command requested a representative from Columbia gas to confirm there was no physical damage to the gas meter and no leaks to be found at the meter or at the residence. All units and personnel cleared without further incident.
