1.32 Crore voters to exercise their franchisee in 8 districts of Marathwada Aurangabad, Oct 14(PTI):- One crore thirty two lakhs and 69 thousand voters are going to elect their representatives for the assembly on Wednesday in Marathwada region. For a total of 46 assembly seats in the Marthwada region 776 candidates are in fray. Aurangabad and Nanded districts have maximum number of seats, 9 each, Beed and Latur have 6 each, Jalna-5, Parbhani-4 and Hingoli has three assembly seat. The number of candidates in various districts is as follows, Aurangabad -156, Nanded -164, Beed-109, Parbhani-81, Jalna-77,Latur-90, Osmanabad-56 and the least 43 from Hingoli. Heavy police security had been deployed for the polling. Out of a total of 1, 32, 69,865 voters in Marathwada, 70 lakhs 35 thousandn 413 are male whereas 62 lakh, 34 thousand452 are female. 87 thousand 266 officers and employees would monitor the election work at 14,824 polling booths in the region. All the major parties including the BJP, Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, MNS, SP, BSP, AIMIM have filed their candidates. Five corner contest would be witnessed in the state. This was the first time in the history of the region that Social Media, too was utilized for campaigning.PTI COR
