1 Corinthians 3:12-15 Amplified Bible (AMP) 12 But if anyone builds upon the Foundation, whether it be with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,13 The work of each [one] will become [plainly, openly] known (shown for what it is); for the day [of Christ] will disclose and declare it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.14 If the work which any person has built on this Foundation [any product of his efforts whatever] survives [this test], he will get his reward.15 But if any person’s work is burned up [under the test], he will suffer the loss [of it all, losing his reward], though he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has passed] through fire. Good Morning friends! I want you to think of this today: While salvation is a free gift through Christ realise that the crown is not. Sometimes as Christians, we may think works are not important but we must quickly look in the word to see how believers had to sacrifice for the gospel and godly work. On judgment day Jesus’ judgment will be based on what we have done not just for being saved by grace. “My reward is with me, and I will give to every one according to what he has done. (Revelations 22:12). On judgement day, like those of unbelievers some of our works may be rejected. They will have no value in heaven. Some of your works may bring material rewards here on earth, but they will not be credited in heaven. This morning, my encouragement is that let us ensure that our works have eternal and meaningful value. Check yourself, and check your life. May God grant you ability and strength to do that which is right in all circumstances. Here are some prayer points: 1. Heavenly father i thank you for a brand new day, and a brand new morning. 2. Lord i pray that i may walk in righteousness and live a life that is pleasing to you in Jesus name! 3. Lord may i have divine strength in order that i may have my works credited as righteousness in my life in Jesus mighty name! 4. Today, i choose the way of eternal value in all i will do and pursue in Jesus name!
