1. Faith is based upon what God reveals to us through His Word. When Jesus came he perfectly fulfilled the demands of the law before God by offering his sin less life upon the cross for our sins. Jesus told his disciples that He alone is the way, the truth and the life, and that no can come to the Father but by Him. (John 14) Jesus also taught his disciples that his sacrifice was for all who believe: Without any distinction. For God so loved the world, he gave his only son, that whoever believes would not perish but have eternal life. The world at large includes Jews and Gentiles. We all need a savior! The Jews were supposed to share this message with the world and even though most of them did not believe, the spiritual children of Abraham have continued to share this message to this very day. It is a message of saving faith in Christ alone for salvation. It is his perfect work that enables us to be declared right before the throne of God. It is his perfect righteousness that covers our sinful selves. The basis of our faith is the good news about Jesus Christ.
