1. Friends, I had been to Delhi from 23rd Dec. to 26th Dec. I met Sri L.K.Advani, the Chairman of Ethics Committee, Lok Sava and Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, the Speaker Lok Sava with regard to the distribution of money to the journalists in a Press Meet convened by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development addressed by Sri Pinaki Mishra, M.P.Puri. No member of the Committee was present in the Press Conference. Only, Sri Maheswar Mohanty, the local BJD M.L.A., who has got no connection with the Committee, was present. The journalists present there resented such effort to bribe them. They dumped the money on the table of Sri Mishra. They even filed an FIR in the Sea Beach Police Station. Again in the following Press Meet at Bhubaneswar, Rs.300/- were distributed to the journalists in an envelope bearing the logo of UCO Bank. The UCO Bank officials have also admitted to have distributed the money. The Parliament does not allow any press conferences held by the Parliamentary Committees. Here, the Chairman Sri Mishra has forced the Public Sector Bank to use public money for the personal benefit of the M.P. Sri Advani & Smt. Mahajan have assured me to take up the matter. The Ethics Committee will investigate the allegation 2. The hearing of the PIL filed in the Supreme Court against the illegal way in which the bail was granted to the Chit Fund accused Sri Ashok Mohanty; the former Advocate General may come up in the second week of January. 3. About PIL against the formation of Rs.300cr. Corpus Fund for refund of money to the Chit Fund depositors, the Odisha High Court has issued notice to the Odisha Government for reply. Hope, in the month of January the things will clear up.
