1) The New Democratic Party, the opposition party will be hosting a number of protest meetings beginning today to express their discontent with the violation of Vincentian rights. Leader of the Opposition Party the Hon. Arhnim Eustace said the first protest meeting will be held in Mt. Bentick Georgetown. The protest will move to the town of Layou on July 23. A march will then follow on July 26th from the NDP Headquarters ending in front of the Financial Complex where a protest meeting will be held. Eustace said the meetings will focus on Senator Frederick’s arrest and one or two critical issues, but concentration would be on the erosion of rights and in fact, the persecution of some people in the society. The final event to demonstrate Vincentians disappointment with the seemingly erosion of justice will be a prayer vigil to be held on Nice Radio on July 30 during the Newtimes programme. The Opposition Leader is urging Vincentians to support the protest by attending the meetings.
