1 Timothy 4:1-5 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. The issue on the table today is standing firm in our faith. The spiritual war for our souls is being waged today, and what we believe is being bombarded by deception in some form or another. Our ability to stand firm in our faith is in terrible danger when we entertain “deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons”. (NKJV) If you believe in Jesus and stand true to what it means to be a Christian, deceiving spirits will attempt to entice you into belief systems that sabotage the integrity of the Word of God which jeopardizes the core of what you believe. The tactics the serpent used in the Garden of Eden remain the same. The serpent convinced Eve that God’s Word didnt really mean what it said. Lord God, give us wisdom and discernment to know the truth and to stand firm in our faith. Thank You for Your grace, and new hope every day. Amen
