1 year ago tomorrow, September 3, 2014, I resigned from a 23 year career in design drafting. I had an excellent, and very secure, position with one of the best possible companies in my field of expertise. I worked for them for nearly 12 years. My biggest regret was feeling bullied in the office by a man named Pete Huber (yeah, Im going there). A tyrant in many ways, and complaints to upper management from multiple co-workers were ignored for years. In my final year with the company, I ignored his tirades, his attempts to spur a reaction and dreaded going to the office every day he was there. A year later, Im happy Im not dealing with his frequent antics and drama, but regretting having to leave such a valuable employment position in my long career. In the end, I feel as though the bully won, because I was forced to make a decision I truly did not want to make. I hope any of you out there that have to deal with a bully in the workplace have much better success than I did and arent resolved to resigning to save your sanity. Unfortunately, hes still there, just wish I was and he wasnt!
