10-day Seminar of PNP Geographic Information System-Based Crime Analysis (GIS-BCA) opens at Rizal PPO Rizal Police Provincial Office/ December 9, 2014 10:00AM- The ten day Seminar on Geographic Information System-Based Crime Analysis (GIS-BCA) was attended by the Provincial Director PSSUPT BERNABE MENDOZA BALBA, officers and crime registrars from all Municipal Police Stations. GIS-BCA allows viewing, understanding, interpreting and visualizing data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, reports and charts. It is envisioned to help senior executives or commanding officers to make strategic decisions. This information system shall provide insight to top level management and provide answers to questions and address issues by mere visual interpretation presented a manner that is quickly understood and easily shared. During his inspirational message, PSSUPT BALBA said that he promote this system to serve as a constant guide and reference in our daily tasks. According to him, aside from intensified police visibility and the integrated patrol system, holistic approach and systems like these is really a great help in solving crimes. While the system allows for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information, these features also help to predict crime and plan out interventions immediately. This web-based application software was adopted by PRO-4A from PRO-COR in improving and addressing our crime solution problems. The activity was attended by PSUPT RENATO S ALBA, Deputy Chief of RIDMD together with PSINSP MARIVIC M LECAROS, Regional IT Officer and staff. It commenced on December 8 and will end on December 19, 2014. The system which was developed under the leadership of then PRO CORDILLERA Regional Director, PDIR BENJAMIN MAGALONG and now Director CIDG, was officially presented and introduced by PRO COR GIS Team headed by PSSUPT GEORGE DASKEO, Chief, RIDMD, PRO COR to PRO 4A Regional Director PCSUPT JESUS T GATCHALIAN, Command Group, Staff and Provincial Director on July 10, 2014 at Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba Laguna.
