10 years ago I moved here from Taunton, MA to Los Angeles, CA. I had no friends for 2 years (yes me social butterfly), rejected by 3 record labels, and lived with an abusive ex-husband. I escaped with nothing & lived in hiding for 4 years behind locked gates, 4 dogs and 2 guns. I stayed silent for 10 years. I went to work everyday, had perfect attendance and started over, despite the black & blues. I wrote and played til my hands bled, got better at my craft, wrote affirmations knowing one day, just one day, somehow, some way I would make it. Didnt know how...but I just knew. I wrote an Indie Album with moderate and critical success, I became unafraid of someone killing me and I let the fear go. I met a man whom in our first conversation wanted to fight for battered women, without knowing what I went through. And now Im married to him. I rebuilt my entire life in my 30s and 10 years later, I am fearless, more beautiful than what I ever thought and made a dream come true out of paper and thin air. My dream was worth it, it was all worth it and my husband has made it worth it ALL. Many say Im strong, brave and powerful...I dont know if Im any of those sentiments...but I do know, it was worth it, it was all worth it. Thank you to my incredible family and my best friends for lifting me up and to my husband for saving my life. Thank you to everyone on Facebook for all of your support in fighting this fight with me and all of your support. Heres to 10 more years of the best, imaginable life ever.
