100 percent clear. Still fooling em. Someone has to comprise the small but good side of the prognosis probability statistics. I started going after one of those coveted spots minute one like a dog on a bone. I rmbr staggering around, body toast and brain fried, with a ViPR in my hand in the parking garage minutes after chemo and radiation. Defending my cells and preserving my body armor thinking even 1% difference could win the game. And that movement meant life. If I could move, I could live. Breath in more oxygen, circulate oxygenated blood through my system, nourish my cells. Got beat up, burned, brain damaged and felt like body assaulted inside/out. Theres no feeling similar to still standing after battle, beat up scarred up and a little mutilated, but breathing air going home. There are millions of folks with greater challenge here in NA, and without question relative to the horrendous living conditions in many intl countries I still consider myself to have had a very soft life, still do. But that was my battle and all of you who have battled your own private war, you know you carry it quietly inside - hopefully your pain and determination becomes quiet pride, honor, strength and gratefulness to fuel future days and see with perspective. Please allow me to remind you, if you have not noticed, wherever you are, its ano absolutely beautiful day. Everyday is. Say Thank You For This Day. And, if you are so inclined and compelled, yell it out a little to suggest the roaring spirit still ignited inside you that welcomes the chance to do another day well and soak up every step on your path. Thank you Dr John Wu, Dr Matthew Follwell, and Dr Meg Knowling, thank you BCCA, thank you family, close teammates and friends. Love you all. Thank you to those few of you who did not bail thinking I was toast but stood by loyal, to the businesses who did not try and rip me off when my eye was less able to focus and mind less able to think, and to each individual who was not consumed with complaining how bad they had it. Ha! I am here. Feel great. Growing stronger. And just getting started. To the loyal and the helpful, Ive got your back and you have my respect, appreciation and gratitude. To all of you - the friends I am fortunate to have all around the world, you awesome awesome humans - take a look around you, really look and notice. Its an incredibly beautiful day!
