#10432-When Phillip Hughes (Aussie Cricketer) died in a rare sports accident, all the Social Media, Electronic Media was flooded with RIP messages and prayers for the deceased. When 14 CRPF men died fighting Maoists couple of days back, I do not see any remorse for the Martyrs from any section of the society. Their uniform that was drenched in blood was found in a Dustbin in front of the Govt. Hospital where their Post-Mortem was conducted. I am sure this news would find a little space in some corner of a newspaper. Is this the way we pay respect the highest sacrifice one could make ? Who lays down the life for a meagre salary of 30K ? These men are more patriotic that any Cricketers/Politicians/Musicians/Professional. It pains me to see the discrimination we offer to these troopers who lay their lives to maintain Law and Order. I am not connected to any one of the Martyrs who laid their life, but, as a fellow Indian, my heart goes out to them with a simple message “Salute !”. DC – Pune YOJ – 2013 The IAS Guy
