#1095: #Tips for #IPCC Students for exams I am a CA final student. Cleared IPCC group 1 in Nov 2011 with 63% and IPCC group 2 in May 2012 with 66%. ( Both unexpected ) Here I would like to share some of the tips, my experience which might help IPCC students. PREPARATION TIME- 01. I was thinking to drop my attempt of November 2011 but after I filled my exam form, I started studying very seriously. I maintained a diary and wrote the name of chapters subject wise. I used to study those topics/portion first which very easier and the ones which i liked and yeah the smaller ones ;) E.g. in law, I studied Company law first, then ethics and communication and so on.. I had a strategy ki is topic se kuch bhi aa jaye, I should be able to ans. and baki chapters mei I studied only those which were easier. :P 02. Like most of the students Cost FM meri bhi jann nikal deta tha!! I studied Cost first and left FM for last 10 days ,then started fm with leverage, capital budgeting, cash flows etc In Tax, complete IDT first to improve your self confidence then do 5 heads one by one. 03. Maintain a diary and aim at studying 10 hrs per day. ( make a time table of 11-12 hrs coz baki normal wastage ho hi jata hai ) :P 04. For me its difficult to rise early, so i used to study mostly at night (its damn effective) No kachar kachar of gharwale...as in morning everyone gets up to get ready for office. U can maintain ur sleeping time 6 am-1 pm . DO SWITCH OFF YOUR CELLPHONES and DE-ACTIVATE FB ( yeah once in a week you can login to fb ;) ) and in ur break time you can switch on ur cell..These 2 things are the greatest disturbing elements. 05. In ITSM, I found SM easy and made it my strength :) 06. In special audit, copy leke betho..n do write points as u learn 07. NEVER EVER IGNORE STUDY MAT ( even for theory subjects ) [ ICAI loves its study mat ;) ] EXAMINATION TIME- 01. Never ever think of not giving the next exam if you screw up one paper. My Cost FM paper went bad, i was so depressed... But i thought ki isme 40 bhi aa jaye toh I need to get 60+ in tax atleast. And guess what in bothe the papers i scored 60+ :) 02. Never waste too much of time on a single question.Just assume u have 150 mnts for 100 mks..so calculate accordingly and trust me you ll never miss attempting a qs 03. Even if you do not know full soln of prac qs, do solve whatever you know, coz there are always step marking. In Advanced Accouting , I had hardly attemoted 3 prac qs in full...rest only steps..but managed to score 50 :P GENERAL TIPS- 01. Assess yourself- Single group or both. coz aisa na ho ki both k chkkr mei ek bhi na nikle. 02. Never refer to too many books. ICAI material + tuit notes are always enough.
