11:25pm to 12:25pm Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. Events occur in real time. Jack Bauer is driving in his black SUV around 7up. Suddenly a danfo bus rams into his car from behind. The bus hits another car and the driver speeds off without waiting to see his damage. Jack jumps into his car and gives chase and notices 2 other cars doing same. Danfo driver speeds towards Alapere dangerously meandering through light traffic. LASTMA personnel carefully watched the dangerous driving by six cars as if its a movie-they did nothing. Jack eventually blocks danfo with his car and the other chasers rush towards the danfo. Error! One of the cars in the blockade leaves too much space in the barricade and the driver crashes through and zooms off again knocking down a Customs Officer in the process. Chase goes on for 20 minutes and 3 cars drop out. Danfo driver breaks every traffic law in and out of the book and manages to shake off one more leaving only Jack to do the chasing. Jack as usual gives it all he has and danfo rams into another bus skidding out of control. 11:45pm. Anthony Oke. Jack secures a blockade with his car forcing Danfo against a parked LASTMA Hilux. End of chase. Driver is found drunk, arrested and handed over to the Police. His bus is impounded by LASTMA. 12:30pm. Jack is driving to a mechanic workshop to fix his car feeling good. In case youve not figured it out yet, Jack is actually Moi and this is the most dramatic thing Ive done in my life. Why did I do it? Not for the guy to repair my car; not for me to beat him up. Its for a Nigerian who thought he could harm other Nigerians and drive away as if nothing happened, to understand that it can be dangerous. As we speak, hes being detained and Im sure next time, he ll think twice before behaving this way again.
