11-4-2014 Bhigwan This summer, we witnessed an amazing congregation of Openbill Storks, Painted Storks, Ibises, Greater Flamingos and Spoonbills apart from other waterbirds at Bhigwan. At the onset of the dry season, the water in neighboring water-bodies and some parts of reservoir began evaporating and big flocks of these birds were raining over this particular bank at Bhigwan! It was a counting fest! There mustve easily been more a 1000 storks and about 400 flamingos. I attempted to take a panaromic view of the flock, I had to click nearly 50 images! Finally gave up on the idea. Im posting just one image out of those 50 here, you can imagine how many more birds there mustve been :) Birds in the frame: Greater Flamingo, Openbill Stork, Little Cormorant, Brahminy Ducks and there might be a couple of Great Egrets?
