11/9/13 Appreciations: 1;39 AM. No deposit, no return! 1. Irony. The last time I wrote an appreciation was 9/11. Today is 11/9. I did not plan it this way, that is irony they say, and a - hay, hay, hay! to ya any old way 2. The new energy of this newly minted day, barely underway, and a hay, hay, hay...wait a minute...is this some kind of rhymey thingy? Well, maybe so, but I never planned it like so, and a ho, ho, hold on a minute! Lets start this whole thingy over and over again, my friend...and on she rolls, down the alley way, or as Ali McGraw once would say, lets make a run for it and ditch all these silly rules, abandon all those fools, lets jump in all the pools. I think I see a bus to Marrakech, and back to a time yet to be, when we can all be so very, very free, like back in 1970, when freedom was worn out, and worn out, and worn...out, to the beat of a thousand drums, and no one wanted to kill the Viet Kong, sept for those with the gold who wanted even more, from the guns they could sell, and the bullets and the gore. Some things never change but some things stay the same, like a lust to kill and mame, and a trust in old aunt Mame. OK, this is sounding pretty dark for an appreciation! What I am appreciating is how you can put years and decades and moments next to each other and all the finest notions together, and peoples lives populating your mind, as they march away, in unison, it time. What I appreciate is that some folk singers could once sing about rosemary and thyme, and the meaning gets through the veil, the message is in the tail, and we never succeed to fail, but we always, always, always find each others eyes when we need to, before its too late, and before we cross the gate, of no deposit, no return.
