“11. ...when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12. ... and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands...” (Exodus 17: 11, 12). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. During the battle between Israel and Amalek, it was discovered that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel prevailed; and whenever he put down his hands, Amalek prevailed. The Israelites discovered that the raising of Moses’ hands worked for their success; they discovered a crucial ingredient of their success. When they discovered that raising Moses’ hands gave them success, Aaron and Hur helped Moses’ hands to remain raised. They saw what worked for them, they saw something that brought them victory and success, they saw something that added value to their battle, and they did it again. Isn’t it tragic that we often make efforts that bring us victory, but we don’t bother to make those efforts again? We make prayers that bring results, and we stop praying because our prayers are answered; we tweak and improve our careers, businesses, ministries, etc, and when dividends come, we forget to repeat the same thing that brought dividends. Friend, is there something you did before that brought success and victory? God says, do it again. Are there positive efforts and attitudes that paid off? God says, do it again. Are there prayers you made that turned things around for your good? God says, pray even more. Are there steps you took that brought good results? Take those steps again. Are there things that worked for your destiny in the past? Just do it again. Success is all about discovering those little things that work for you, and doing them again and again. If it worked before, why not do it again? If it brought success in the past, then do it again. Pray With Me: Lord, help me to discover the repeat the things that work for my good, in Jesus’ name!
