111414 Stone Cutters Union at The Phoenix in downtown KC. The Phoenix is a very cool historic venue. The bands play sandwiched in a piano which has a U shaped bar around it. I had the seat on the corner....the best in the house ! I was literally 3 feet from the performers, just like being part of the band. Sean McDonnell is the guitar player and was playing with another band in Topeka, KS. Dave Hays agreed to sit in until Sean arrives. Dave is a amazing guitar player and has several bands and jams around KC. He is great at getting musicians involved and is always looking to help them feel comfortable. The amazing thing is that these guys have never played together before and it was amazing how great this music was. THIS is why I head to KC so often...there are so many fantastic musicians that have this sort of jam every night of the week. Its the best thing to see when the musicians feel good about the music and they are having a great time. Then I continues when Sean arrives.....this was a very special night...I will not forget it !!!
