11pm Monday night I tried the man solution to pain - ignore it and hope it goes away. 4am Tuesday morning I got Charmaine to take me to Box Hill emergency. Two main possibilities for the pain I had. First is appendicitis - I had some but not all symptoms. second is kidney stones - can cause pain in the back (kidney) and in the front (renal tube to the bladder). Mine turned out to be kidney stones - 5mm and 6mm - that cannot be passed naturally. One had entered the renal tube causing a back-up and blow out of the kidney (hence the pain). Not being life-threatening I decided to go to the Epworth (across the road). This morning they did stage 1 of a 3 stage treatment, Back again next week for stage 2 and then a week or so for the final treatment.
