12/15/14 Update on Ken: Ive spent some time at the hospital with Ken and the doctors this morning. Last night was a rough night for Ken--a blood pressure med had been removed & his blood pressure dropped quite a bit, but this morning, he is awake, aware and his color is better. (Perhaps the Cowboys win over Philadelphia was a bit much for him!) The doctors are saying there has been little improvement over the past 24 hrs., and that he is not out of the woods yet. While the monitors #s and readings are ok and stable, I was reminded that these are artificial stats, due to the meds, breathing tube, dialysis, etc., not because his body is producing what we see on the monitor. I am hopeful for Kens recovery, because I know our God is faithful, but I also know that we age and our bodies are vulnerable to that aging. This is an hour by hour dance of two steps forward and one back--sometimes two. . . so if I were to report that he is better to any degree, it would not be the entire picture. Im trying to be as positive as possible concerning where he is at this time, but at the same time, I feel that I need to be as truthful with the facts that are given to me. I covet your continuing prayer support for him and appreciate all you have done for both of us. May God richly and abundantly bless you!
