#12 Dory Funk Jr - Terry Funk may be the toughest man to ever get - TopicsExpress

#12 Dory Funk Jr - Terry Funk may be the toughest man to ever get back body dropped on the concrete but his older brother Dory is almost as tough and even better at wrestling. Funk’s talent and toughness brought him the big gold belt (NWA Heavyweight title) in 1969 and he held onto that belt for an incredible four years, giving him the second longest reign as champion in history. Dory, along with his brother Terry, would go on to wrestle in Japan where they would become some of the most beloved gaijin wrestlers in that country. Indeed, I don’t think its a stretch to say that Dory Funk Jr is in fact THE most beloved gaijin wrestler in Japanese wrestling history and to date he actually works as a suite for New Japan Wrestling. But that’s not all! He’s also one of the greatest wrestling trainers of all time. He’s trained: William Regal, Steve Corino, Rhino, Edge, Christian, Matt & Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Paul London, Jun Akiyama, Chris Sabin, Ted Dibiase, Test, Lita, and I’m tired of this, everybody else too. If that’s not “world’s greatest wrestler” material then I don’t know what is. Here are highlights from a match against Jack Brisco in 1974 for the NWA title that is widely regarded as one of the best in wrestling history: https://youtube/watch?v=kp1mU1Hs9Ps
