12 cops hurt in Pulwama grenade attack ►RAJA MUZAFAR ALI◄ Pulwama, Sep 7: At least 13 persons including 12 policemen were injuredwhen unidentified persons hurled a grenade on forces in Pulwama Saturday. Reports said that unidentified persons hurled the grenade on forces outside district hospital Pulwama. Seven of the injured wereshifted to Srinagar hospitals, but all are out of danger, doctors said. Soon after the incident forces were deployed in every nook and corner of the town and search operations were carried out. “We have launched search operations to nab the attackers,” a police officer told GK. A police spokesman said: “Militants lobbed a grenade towards police deployment near District Hospital in Pulwama this afternoon in which 11policemen namely HC Mushtaq Ahmad, Ct. Fayaz Ahmad, Ct. Mohammad Yousuf, Ct. Ghulam Ahmed, Ct. Zahoor Ahmed, Ct. Hilal Ahmed, Ct. Ghulam Nabi, Ct. Rizwan Ahmed, Ct. Mohammad Rafique, Ct. Ashiq Hussain, Ct. Manzoor Ahmed, SPO Gowhar Ahmed and a civilian Shabir Ahmed resident of New Colony Pulwama were injured.” Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Spokesman of Hizbul Mujahideen, identifying himself as Baleeguddin, in a telephonic message to KNS said the attack at Pulwama was carried out by militants of the outfit.
