#123 – “Towards and Against” by Amorphis In some parts of the world, heavy metal remained in focus and did not evolve into the underground movement it seems to have become most everywhere else. Especially Europe still embraces this genre almost as much as they have done in its heyday. It should come as no surprise then, that some of the more prominent metal bands originate from within the European sphere. Finland does not have many globally successful bands (except for perhaps HIM), but the ones that are known are within the heavy metal circuit. Apocalyptica, Nightwish, Stratovarius, as well as our featured band here, are perhaps the most famous.
