13/30: Forgetfulness Last night, I traveled to the very depths of your ocean And forgot what I was looking for The sign that read, “You are Here” looked withered As if many had crossed this path before, but never made it to you In the nook of that abyss, I found pearls hidden with your deepest secrets Though I thought it best not to inquire From not knowing if these truths were worth knowing Immersing myself in all that is you Making you my business, having no regard for my well-being And drowning from wanting to go deeper I forgot that you only tread in shallow waters Proving why you don’t know me like I wish you did In the past, I’ve tried trickling little droplets of me into your heart Showering your thoughts with mine Handing you my pearls, my heart, my gems All that requires your love and safe keeping But, I cannot make you want like I want Nor desire to wade pass my shoreline Now, I’m in need a saving from you So I still have a chance to return back to me.
