14 - The Galactic Riddle Perry Rhodan search the planet of immortality - and he finds a trail that leads into eternity... After removing the Topsider-hazard, the Terrans around Perry Rhodan now increasingly focus on the search for the world of eternal life. However, they have found no inhabitants on the tenth planet of the Vega system. From the ferronian scientists Lossoshér comes the crucial clue of a gap between the ninth and the tenth planet. Perry Rhodan concludes from this that a planet of Vega is missing. Now, whilst the search for the beings that live longer than the sun runs in a void, Perry Rhodan turns to the only clue to track down the galactic riddle - the time vault at Ferrol. After a short radio message in which Michael Freyt as Rhodans representative on Terra was informed about the new developments, such as the conclusion of trade relations with the Ferrons and the continued presence of the STARDUST II in the Vega system, Rhodan conferred with Crest and Thora to define the further mutual proceeding. After the successful search for the world of eternal life should occur a trip to Arkon. Firstly the galactic position of the Earth shall be announced, on the other hand the Arkonides get home. Then will follow the journey back to Earth. However Rhodan reserves the right to decide for himself whether he reveals the galactic position or not. This depends on the expected negotiations. Parallel to the search of the Terrans, the Ferron Lossoshér wants to pursue his own theory. He believes the Immortals wanted to fool the searchers, and says that they had an uninhabited planet removed from the system and settled on another planet or moon of Vega. Rhodan gives him Sergeant Groll as helping hand, who shall pursue this theory with Lossoshér. While both leave with a starfighter, the time vault shall fully opened with the help of the recently from the cassette recovered documents, which had been decrypted by the board positronic. With a generator, a screen field is generated that prevents the radiation of the radio stars and can thus reach all in the future hidden objects in the present. One of these is a matter transmitter with a transport capacity of several people. This transmitter is faulty, however - the searchers are obviously intended to prove that they are capable of five-dimensional thinking and repair it in order to follow the trail further. As a note appears characters on the back of the transmitter that reads translated: Youll find the light, when your mind is equivalent the uppermost classification. Using the board positronic a robot was programmed, who repaired the transmitter. At the next day, Rhodan, Crest, Frank M. Haggard, Anne Sloane, John Marshall, the robot and Reginald Bull go into the transmitter. After a very long transition, conclude from the occurring pain when using the transmitter, the group finds itselfs in a huge hall. Thanks Crests photographic memory only briefly on the ceiling displayed characters can be written down. The robot returns to the STARDUST II and then they can decrypt the signs. Meanwhile, the other members of the group are subjected to an examination by a mental structur scanner. They are then prompted to continue searching. The then-onset energy transfer from an unknown source sets two gigantic robots in motion. The party is enclosed in a corridor between the two robots that threaten to move towards to crush them. Thanks Anne Sloanes telekinetic abilities they can free themselves from the trap. However, Anne is too weak to fight the second robot. As the robot from the STARDUST II returns by the transmitter, he brings Betty Toufry with, which sets the second robot out of action. The decrypted message is: Welcome to the central of the thousand tasks - but only one of them brings you closer to the goal. Suddenly with the elimination of the second robot disappears the transmitter. Meanwhile, the hall heats up more and more. The only cool place is still the location of a device, which is recognized by Crest as fictitious transmitter, which need no receipt station. After clues, which are indicated by a glow of control buttons, Perry Rhodan sets this in operation. The transmitter displaces a wall, behind which another, larger fictitious transmitter becomes visible. The group obtained another message. They have only 15 minutes left to leave the room. The control button of the fictitious transmitters lights up, but can not be operated manually due to a blocking field. A few seconds before the deadline, the group receiving the request to apply the supreme knowledge. Betty Toufry then pushes the button telekinetically. After the group dematerialises, the central of the thousand tasks vaporizes in a nuclear chain reaction. The dematerialized of the fictitious transmitter found themselfes after the end of transportation in the time vault at Ferrol. During their four-hour adventure there have passed only five minutes. Upon their arrival, a glowing ball from the ceiling begins to float to the ground. In it is a capsule which can only be recovered by Perry Rhodan. The content is a film with encrypted characters which shall be decrypted by the board positronic. Meanwhile Sergeant Groll and the Ferrone Lossoshér discover in their search at the outermost moon of the 13th planet a pyramid, which is with its inscriptions an indication of the Immortals. There they can also encounter a downed Topsider. This threatens both with his gun and was shot by Sergeant Groll. Later Lossoshér and Groll return and report their finding. Rhodan finds that the pyramid represents a detour in the galactic riddle and is for those who have lost the direct route. But Rhodan plans to take the direct route. perrypedia.proc.org/wiki/Datei:PR0014.jpg
