150 Years Ago in the Civil War 24 AUG 1864 CS Gen A. P. Hill starts moving his men towards the resting men of US Gen Winfield Scott Hancocks men at Reams Station,VA. CS Gen Stand Watie, with his Cherokee troops, and CS Col Richard Ganos cavalry strike 420 troopers of the 2nd Kansas Cavalry at Gunters Prairie, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), inflicted 20 casualties before swinging north and kill 40 more Union troops at Flat Rock Ford. The USS Keystone and Gettysburg capture the Confederate steamer Lilian off Wilmington, NC. They change her flag to a Union one and assign her a station in the blockade. The USS Narcissus captures the Confederate schooner Oregon in Biloxi Bay, Mississippi Sound.
