16 days of activism 2014- a warm up event by SACHET Pakistan in collaboration with DoSTI YAN, FADAN,PRHN and like minded partner CSOs and CSO networks. Innovative inspiriting indigenous inclusive 120 minutes of show of power of passion AGEHI ( al bababr centre F-8 Markaz) on 24 November 2014 between 3;30 pm-5:00pm. What is the event? • Seeing is believing: A 15-minute episode of fight against dowry TV series by SACHET was screened to create attention towards an almost forgotten issue in the context of GBV. T • Activists’ gallery: SACHET is working on this virtual gallery with real activists and community for the past many months. On the occasion of 16 days of activist SACHET invited its partners and allies in civil society to honour this gallery through their presence. They show cased their own messages on different issues of women and girls and photographed. The link on the website will be shared with all partners. • Signature Backdrop: To create the collective ownership SACHET requested all partners and allies to share their logos that was placed on the backdrop. Who should attend? All like minded people from different walks of life were our guests. Hence there were professionals (development experts, doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers etc. entrepreneurs), activists, journalists, youth and community representatives. About us: SACHET Pakistan was established in 1999 with a mission of “Promoting human development with disadvantaged communities in Gender perspectives” SACHET has in-house technical resource wing, named AGEHI (Advocates of Gender, Education & Health Information) resource center, which provide technical assistance to SACHET besides providing research and advocacy support to many development organizations in Pakistan through different strategies. AGEHI provides technical assistance to programs of SACHET besides managing SACHETs official website, AGEHI theater group, AGEHI Production House, FADAN (Fight against Dowry Advocacy Network) and “Dare to sensitize Train & Inform-Youth Adolescent Advocacy Network” (DoSTI-YAN). DoSTI-YAN is a national level advocacy network envisages reaching out to the youth and adolescent from diverse groups including rural and from under-privileged communities, for their collective development through their collective efforts, by unifying them on a single platform. AGEHI resource center specializes in coordination, networking and partnership development with donor organization, where it conceptualizes and develops different research based development programs, to present to donors for achievement of shared objectives. “Alternative Perspectives”, the first and till to date the only indigenous think tank on health and reproductive health issues managed by AGEHI (Advocates of Gender, Education & Health Information) Resource Center, SACHET Pakistan.
