17july “How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride!” Song of Solomon 4:10 1Corinthians 7:28 One of the questions married couples ask themselves is: “What happened? What went wrong?” What they mean is: “How did we go from the excitement of those early days to what we have now?” And the second part of the question is: “Can we recapture what we once had?” Well,The basic answer to the question of what happened in a marriage is this: the honeymoon ended. That early period of euphoria where you felt like you were never going to land came to an end as you and your mate encountered the realities of daily life. But that’s okay because the early euphoria of marriage isn’t supposed to last. However, what a lot of married couples do is failure to go to the next step and build on that honeymoon feeling. What they do is let their marriage slide into sameness and boredom.But there’s a lot you can do even if your marriage has reached that point. First, it helps to recognize The rough spots that can make a marriage go bump in the night are natural, normal, and to be expected.Once you begin to live together and become comfortable around each other, you dispense with the party behavior. Husband, you are no longer trying to win her. You now have her. You have papers on her. So you stop trying to woo her.And, wife, you no longer have to pretend you don’t mind the stupid things he does. Before, you’d act like it didn’t matter because you wanted to marry him. But now it matters, the masks are off.That’s when a marriage gets fun, because both of you feel comfortable being who you really are. It can be exciting to discover that the wonderful person you thought you married really is wonderful….in ways you never imagined.If that sounds to ideal for your marriage, stay and ask God to rekindle the flame.You’ll both get a lot further and be a lot happier if you concentrate on fulfilling each other instead of trying to perfect each other. Ephesians 4:23 says "and be renewed in the spirit of your mind" How do you get renewed? By practicing what the lord commanded us in EPHESIANS 5:21-30 that is, submitting ourselves to one another and love each other in the fear of God. Good afternoon peepz
