17th June 2013 Teenager Seriously Assaulted in Luton Detectives in Luton are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 15 year old boy was attacked as he walked home from school on Friday afternoon (June 14) and left with a serious head injury.The incident happened at around 3.45pm as the victim was walking a wooded area in Henge Way, Luton. The teenager saw two offenders ahead of him and then noticed that one of the men was carry what appeared to be a plank of wood with barbed wire wrapped around the end of it. As the victim walked by the two men, he was struck around the back of the head by one of the offenders who then both fled towards Sundon Park.The victim was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital for treatment where he needed seven stitched to the back of his head.The first offender was a black male, around 15 years old, five feet seven inches tall, of a thin build, with short black hair and wearing a blue long sleeved jumper. This individual was carrying the plank of wood which was approximately 50cm long with barbed wire wrapped around the end. The second offender was a light skinned Asian male, also around 15 years old, five feet nine inches tall, average build with short black hair, wearing a black short sleeved shirt and riding a red BMX bike.PC Lee-Anne Pogson, who is investigating the attack, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the Henge Way area at the time of the incident and may have seen the offence taking place. She would also like any information on the two offenders.PC Pogson said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack which has left a young man with some very nasty injuries. There was no interaction between the victim and his attackers before the incident and it is important that we find these offenders as quickly as possible to stop them from carrying out any further attacks.“I’d like to appeal to anyone who was in Henge Way on Friday afternoon and may have seen an altercation taking place to get in touch.
