18 August 2014. Testing a 27.5 inch Mtb 700c wheels have always been associated with road tours. And thus many tour bikes come with this size. I love these bikes and keep half a dozen of them. All tge bikes however come with rigid fork. However 26 inch wheels are very common on mountain bikes, they have suspension forks and replacement of tubes and tires are readily available at most shops during a tour. I have a couple of Mtbs, and use them on tours which include both paved and unpaved roads. I like the characteristics of a Mtb for such unpaved and broken roads but being a 26inch wheels, it dont really feel at home when traveling on better asphalt road. Bike industry had introduce 29 inch Mtb sometime ago, but the radical-sloping frame with large oversized tires do not please me at all. Ive tried a few 29er, but felt they are somehow a bit sluggish at turns and uphills and so decided not to have a 29. The most recent introduction is the 27.5 inch wheelset. Its sort of midway between the 29er and the smaller 26 inch. Could it be possible to make them into a good off road touring bike? Good rolling capabilities on paved road as well? With a front suspension and not-so-radical-sloping frame, and wheel size just the right size to please the eyes too. With these facts, .. I simply had to test one. It is a Malaysian bike, LeRun Evo Pro. All Shimano including hubs and brakes. 30 speeds. Syarikat Seng Hin
