1870-Pharmacopia lists cannabis as a medicine. 1850-1900-Marijuana extracts are the most prescribed medicines in the United States. 1915 UTAH- Local newspaper reports that Mormons returning from Mexico are smoking marijuana and acting strange. Utah becomes the first state to ban Marijuana. 1936- The American propaganda film Reefer Madness attributes pot smoking as to psychotic behavior and Jazz addiction. 1937-The Marijuana Tax Act effectively bans the growing of Cannabis. 1948- Marijuana is branded the favored drug of communists. From the beginning of the 20th century marijuana has been cast in a completely different light from the thousands of years before. The propaganda about marijuana is not too much different from the Aryan propaganda that rose right before Nazi party took power in Germany. Both have been fraught with racism and deceit.
