1906 Memorial to RR worker My dad has told me for years how a railroad worker was killed while constructing the Missouri & St. Louis Line near Crandle, SD. The RR workers friend felt bad that the was buried in the prairie without a proper maker so he carved a his name in a stone as a memorial. Although he had never seen it, Dad was told the rock was just off the road that intersected with the tracks. Well, it was time to find out, so while visiting Saturday I said lets go find it. We did. Dad tells me the name of the worker was C.R. Crenziem, but the stone seems to suggest it was C.F. Krenziem. Time has taken its toll on the rock and the name is getting harder to see, but indeed we found the memorial.
