1964 So the 1st week of August we took what I think may be our last “family” vacation basically because the girls are getting to the age where their own lives are starting and their jobs will limit travel times and such at the moment. We weren’t going to take a family vacation to Nashville because usually the 1st week of August is the week our girls compete in what is called National Fine Arts competition. It was to be in Orlando this year, but God had other plans and that door was closed and the door to Nashville was opened. My husband has a friend; yes he does yall stop laughing. Anyways they have been friends since childhood days and I am friends with this man on FB. He works in the music business in Nashville, I had inquired what the cost and such was out there because I know here in the Midland Odessa we do have studios to record in and was trying to get prices to compare. This friend looked at some of Mae’s videos and liked what he saw. The plan was to just meet up with this friend so him and jack could catch up and maybe see a recording studio. Ok that’s the back story, grab a fresh cup of coffee for the rest go ahead I’ll wait. Ok so even though the door was closed on one thing and opened on another thing this WHOLE THING didn’t just start a few weeks ago. No actually it started like 49 years ago near as we can figure. There is a verse in the bible that talks about generations being blessed…ya know like cuz someone’s 9 times great grand parent was faithful to God. God blesses too many generations. And that’s what is cool about this. Back about 1964 or so when Jack’s friend was about 14 years old my mother in law and father in law bought this then 14 year old young man his 1st three piece suit, sock and shoes to go on his first ever missions trip, showing the boy someone believes in him. As life happens kids grow up move away start a life, this man never forgot how he was blessed and had been looking for away to return the blessing. Again life happened my mother in law and father in law went home to be with the Lord. And here we are roughly 49 years later and through the blessing that started in 1964 he has been able to return the blessing the grandchild of the ones who blessed him. As I said we went on vacation to Nashville, the first 4 days we vacationed and the last 3 and a half Mae and sometimes Jacee worked with song writers, to get together 6 or 7 songs out of those 3 will be recorded on a demo CD for marketing to record labels, of which our friend is one and off to the radio. The band Name will be “Keeping Harvey Company” which we have another friend to thank for that; Jack’s friend and the man who invented the band name are very Godly men, PRAISE GOD FOR THEM BOTH!!! So don’t think your prayers and blessings go unheard or unappreciated it’s just sometimes……..most times really we wont be around on earth to the see the blessings returned, I have no doubt that my mother in law and father in law can see them from where they are and are rejoicing over the entire thing coming full circle.
