1976 & 1977 Classic Television I was 13 and 14 years old in those years as the Bicentennial Year of 1976 was being celebrated in my hometown of Philadelphia along with the rest of the nation. I felt that times were about to change in 76 and 77 and we could see the trends of the next decade sometimes in the television and print media of those days. The television shows, media and commercials were a mixture catering to old and young alike, but the one thing they shared in common was a bit of angst over what the future would bring. The trends of the future are to be seen in the genesis of ideas, vision and the attitude of the times. As for the decade of the 1970s, well, I remember 1976 being the crossroads year which then led to the following great turn year of 1977 when the decade of the 1970s was about to begin to mature.
