(1985)- Sueyoski Okinawa DANNYS HOT DOGS (renamed OKI DOG) was originally located on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. & Vista St. in West Hollywood. The owner Danny Sueyoski named one of his menu items OKI after his homeland of Okinawa. The Los District Attorney filed lawsuit that year in attempt to shut down the business; alleging the place had become a center for illegal activity, including drug use, lued conduct, narcotics sale & prostitution. (All true) The place had also become a favorite hang out for punk rockers and after-hours meal joint. Danny was able to remain in business after agreeing to make certain changes to curtail & prevent continued illegal activity by patrons. At the same time, the publicity gained attention of another establishment of similar name located in SFV which had trademark for the name Dannys Dogs; as a result Sueyoski change his stand name to OKI DOG after the menu item had become the signature of the place. In early 1990s, Oki Dog relocated to Fairfax Ave.
