1989 or so. It was election time. One of our clients ran a chemicals company and was politically inclined. I had asked for a ten minute meeting on polling day. He said he would be busy all day particularly afternoon and evening. I asked why. We were also friends and he explained. He had created a product by which he could erase the voting mark. His party would send people a month or so in advance to check how many in the voters list had been transferred out relocated or died. Once the list of such people was ready they would earmark a set of people who were of same gender and age and send them to cast votes in their names. And my client was the one who erased their voting marks. With voting cards and photo ids etc that may be tough but am sure fake voting still happens.
