(1Ch 4:10 KJV) Jabez was a child born under great sorrow. His mother had not experienced something like this before. She gave him a name that was consistent with his birth: Jabez, grief, sorrowful. This name became a prophetic destiny for Jabez. It haunted everything he did and he desired to be liberated from such a life. The first step he took was to call on the God of Israel and he asked for a blessing. He desired a change of story! He wanted a life that was different from what he was currently experiencing. He was tired of carrying sorrow around, he was tired of being the tail, and he was tired of being the despised. He knew that God the Creator of everything had the power to change things. As he called on God, Jabez refused limitation (enlarge my coast). He asked for the hand of God to be on him and to be kept from evil. He didn’t want grief to be part of his life anymore. God granted Jabez his request, from that day there was a turnaround in his life! You too can defy limitations that were imposed on you. The coming of Jesus assured you of a life that is beyond limitation. God gave the best gift in heaven and there is nothing that he will withhold from you anymore. You are blessed with every spiritual blessing that is in the heavenly places (Eph 1:3). There is nothing that our God cannot do, allow Him to take over the situation and you will see the hand of the Lord working mightily in the state of affairs."
