1Co 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, - TopicsExpress

1Co 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. (Paul, the Apostle) What is needed most today in Gods true church is a commitment to the inerrancy and sufficiency of the scriptures. In the nation in which we now serve the dominant thought is that Pauls writings are opinions and not inspired scripture. Contrary even to Pauls own words. Where Paul deals with divorce issues in 1 Corinthians 7, after giving our Lords teaching on divorce and then addressing divorce issues that Jesus did not teach on he says to the rest speak I not the Lord. It is here that they go to cancel out any teaching of Paul that they do not like, claiming that some of Pauls teaching are only his opinion. Particularly the prohibition of woman teaching men and Pastoring churches. However, the context of our above text is regarding woman prophecying in the church and Paul here prohibits it and then claims that what he says is the commandment of God. It would be nice if those who claim to be prophets or spiritual here in Belize would read and believe what Paul has said. They are destroying the word of God and misleading the flock of God. KB
