1Co 2:14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” The flesh cannot and will not be satisfied. It is momentarily appeased through sin. Man’s insatiable quest, hunger, and thirst for material possessions have many searching spiritual things for monetary gain. Most miss the reality of the kingdom of God and its relevance to their lives because they cannot or will not open themselves beyond the possibilities of having life past the one they have now. Jesus spoke in parables (Mat 13:1-17), but the relevance here is that while he was speaking those present included prophets and righteous men. But only his disciples were able to hear what Jesus was really saying, except once. That means that among the present were church folk having no idea of what Jesus was talking about and lack the understanding to put it all together, even though they claim to spend so much time seeking him. Many have put faith in believing that you can be saved while still having an unchanged life. Believing that the mark of being super spiritual is material wealth. Believing that a title defines who you are with God. Believing that you can pay your way into heaven. Believing that the size of your church measures the understanding you have, or how in touch with God you are.
