1st-AUGUST-2013,,,,,,THURSDAY YOUNG DEMOCRATS URGE ADE-COKER TO STOP REBBELIOUS ACTIVITES AGAINST THE PRESIDENT The Ashanti regional chapters of YOUNG DEMOCRATS have sent a strong worded message to the Greater Accra Chairman of the NDC to stop leading rebel activities against the president John Dramani Mahama for exercising his constitutionally mandated responsibilities under article 243(1) of the 1992 constitution. It will be recalled that thirty-three MMDCEs across the country and four who came from the Greater Accra region were axed from their positions by the president contained in a statement that was signed by the Local Government Minister, Mr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu. We congratulate all those that were affected but also sympathize with them simply because times like this will be very challenging. We do know that most of them have worked assiduously in bringing the party back to power however they should reminded politics is not quite a straight forward endeavour nevertheless patience makes a big difference. They should learn from other ministers who were also previously axed but have again been reappointed by the president by the president and therefore we kindly ask them to admonish their teeming supporters to calm down. All is not Honorable. We have however observed that the commentary by Ade Coker in the media was meant to cause disaffection to the president and derail his efforts to promote peace within the party and the country especially at a time that we all need peace as we fervently awaits the Supreme Court ruling on the petition. The Ashanti regional chapters of Young Democrats wish to remind Ade coker that there is nothing Constitutional about the president consulting him before appointing any MMDCEs and even though the president is not required by law to consult the party, interviews were conducted by regional executives from the ten regions across the country and subsequently short listed three candidates for the president to make his appointments. We cannot fathom and comprehend why Mr coker keeps ranting that the president failed to consult all stakeholders including him? Again we are told that Ade coker has some favorites’ of MMDCEs that he wish to be appointed but we think this is untrue expect that Mr cokers ways of addressing the challenges seems to put the president to disrepute and stampede. Our checks .our checks also indicated that his position does not represent the position of the Greater Accra NDC executives but rather took the media platform to express his unilateral and parochial interest without circumspection. The Ashanti Regional chapters of YOUNG DEMOCRATS wish to remind Ade Coker that there are well laid down communication structures in the party that he belongs to seek redress if he has any challenge in the presidents directives and appointments. We also request Ade coker must unconditionally apologize to the president and elders in the party in the region and immediately put an end from rather media war and insubordination against H,E JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA. We entreat him to be a team player and stop ridiculing the President in the manner that he did. A WORD TO A WISE IS ENOUGH. Yours sincerely SIGNED Nana Acheampong (Chapter secretary) 0240733128
