1st real shift day and I was up early sharing in the nerves this morning. We have been waiting for this moment for nearly 5 years. Well...that is when the bottom fell out. It was almost 3 years after that that we started on this path to become a Fire family. So here we are, on an early Sunday morning, trying to remember to grab all the necessities for the next 24 hours. While he is moving from room to room and back again for gear, extra uniforms, toiletries, etc. I find myself being swept over by all the emotions Im sure any new Fire Wife has felt, excitement, anxiety, relief, happiness, concern for his safety, my sanity and the unknown. So, I say a prayer, wish him a great first day, kiss his handsome face and tell him to be safe! Im sure after all these years he knows my thoughts, but I wont dare share, not today. #proudfirewife #Lordhelpmebestrong
